Based in Minneapolis, Peace Catalyst staff Peter and Liz are equipping and empowering community peacemakers and collaborating alongside those who are already building peace and working for transformation in their community. They have experience in church youth ministry in Chicago as well as Christian-Muslim peacebuilding in London, and they are now involved in both community organizing and contemplative spirituality, seeking to help people develop holistic approaches to peacemaking on personal, interpersonal, and community levels.

Peace Catalyst peacebuilders Nick and Laura Armstrong spent 23 years living and working in Indonesia before beginning their work among refugees in Boise, Idaho. They now work as a team to build peace by connecting local church members with refugees from around the world who have settled in their area.

Martin Brooks, President of Peace Catalyst, and his wife Susan join us for the first episode in this series featuring our very own Peace Catalyst peacebuilders. Martin has been with Peace Catalyst since 2011 when he and Susan moved back to the U.S. from Turkish Cyprus. The Brooks are based in Louisville, KY and they join Keith and Becca to talk about the origins of Peace Catalyst, their own personal peacebuilding journey, and some of the best stories from their work in Kentucky.

Kahlida Lloyd is the founder of the faith-based racial reconciliation nonprofit Mission Reconcile, which exists to connect single-race churches (i.e. black churches with white churches) to have conversations about race and to form relationships. Kahlida is also an attorney and holds degrees in Communications, Political Science, and Law.
Danielle Blevins is also a lawyer and a journalist by trade in addition to her role with Mission Reconcile.
Kahlida and Danielle join us to talk about their work in New Orleans and Washington, D.C., what kinds of obstacles they face, and what continually motivates them to do this work.

A Christian writer from Minnesota now living in Djibouti, East Africa, Rachel Pieh Jones joins us to talk about her experience living among Muslims in the Horn of Africa for the last 18 years and how that experience has deepened her Christian faith and led her closer to Jesus.
Rachel is an author, blogger and even cookbook writer, and her latest book is called Pillars: How Muslim Friends Led Me Closer to Jesus. She has written for the New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, Huffington Post, Runners World, and Christianity Today.

In this episode we talk with Salim Munayer, Founder and Executive Director of Musalaha Ministry of Reconciliation, which has been bringing together Israelis and Palestinians since 1990. Salim is a Palestinian Christian and Israeli citizen. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Tel Aviv University, he went on to earn a Masters from Fuller Theological Seminary, complete graduate studies at Pepperdine University, and receive his PhD from Oxford. Salim has published several books on reconciliation and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; is currently an adjunct professor at Fuller Theological Seminary; and teaches at Bethlehem Bible College, where he previously served as academic dean.
